General Procedures for Sample Submission and Collection of Reports

Working hours from Monday to Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with break in the afternoon from 1-30 to 2 p.m. except for the govt. Holidays, 2nd and 3rd saturdays. Sample will be submitted through the office of the Attached Officer during first half of the day from Monday to Friday. The sample should be properly labelled. The sample should be submitted in Glass or plastic food grade containers/bags. The following quantities constitute a sample, unless otherwise specified for the plant material concerned.

Requirements for Instrumental Methods Facility Required information GC-FID-ECD Information on nature of sample, constituents, boiling points, melting Points, solubility, Identification/Quantification of the component will be possible only if reference compound is available in the lab stock. HPLC-UV Information on nature of sample, constituents, boiling points, melting Points, solubility, In case of Plant samples, only whole fresh/dry samples will be acceptable. Plant powders, extracts or crude drugs will not be accepted in any case. Identification/Quantification of the component will be possible only if reference compound is available in the lab stock. UV-VIS Spectrophotometer Nature of component and solvent Medicinal Plant Identification Whole plant with leaves and flowers/Fruits.
