Under the leadership of Hon. Forest Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shri Sartaj Singh, a trade delegation of MP MFP Federation participated in Natural & Organic Products Europe- 2010, held on 11th & 12th April, 2010. This is the largest trade fair of Europe, so far as natural & organic products are concerned. About 500 Participants from 30 countries including U.S.A., U.K., China, Germany, France, Canada, Holland, Spain, Italy etc. participated and displayed their products in this trade exposition.
The products on display in this trade expo included Edible products & food items, textiles, cosmetics, child care products, perfumes & natural medicines among other things.
Only Madhya Pradesh, in this event, represented India. MP State MFP Federation participated & displayed its products in this event. Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, GOl provided financial aid in this Endeavour and Madhya Pradesh Audyogic Kendra Vikas Nigam (AKVN), Jabalpur co-coordinated this trip.
Besides Hon. Forest Minister, the delegation comprised of the following representatives:-
- Shri Ramesh K. Dave, M.D., M.P. State MFP Federation,
- Shri G.Krishnamurthy, CCF Chhindwara Forest Circle and
- Shri R.K. Chourasia, MD, AKVN, Jabalpur.
Five groups of products were selected for display and export, namely-
- Raw Herbs
- Shellac
- Essential Oils
- Herbal tea and
- Boswellic gum
M.P. MFP Federation provided information, brochures & samples to the potential buyers and the visitors of the stall, in this expo.
The social responsibilities being addressed by MP MFP Federation in providing livelihood opportunities to the forest dependent communities, was greatly appreciated by most of the visitors. They expressed high regards for this organization for making the villagers partners in the trade and profits.
Many members of the Indian business community in London expressed satisfaction & pride in the yeoman’s service being provided by this organization to the downtrodden people residing in & around forests of this central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
During its stay in London, this delegation, also, held detailed discussions with the representatives of the London based Medicines & Health Care Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). The details of various procedures, rules & sanctions etc. were obtained during the course of these discussions with a view to export MP’s herbal products in Europe.
